‘Winnebago Man’ Not the Angriest Man in the World

In May of this year, Conan O’Brien unveiled his favorite top five YouTube videos to commemorate the popular video website’s five years of success.  Never one to disappoint, Conan’s suggestions were hilariously understated much like the ginger-mopped virtuoso himself. Among his top five was one titled “Winnebago Man“ which was my first glimpse into what millions of viewers had already discovered:  Jack Rebney, Winnebago spokesman with a mouth fouler than your favorite blue collar comedian and a summer intern named Tony. America’s Summertime Movie Faves

Now that the autumn months are upon us, it is the perfect time to cozy up to Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome (or Mr. Short, Fair and Plain – it’s all according to personal preference) at your favorite Cineplex and take in a great drama or indie picture. Just as comedies and action films suit the spring and summer months, dramas seem to pair nicely with autumn and winter. There are plenty of great looking movies coming out in the next few months that we are dying to see over here at Movie Date Headquarters (The King’s Speech, True Grit, Everything Must Go, and TRON:  Legacy just to name a few). But let’s not forget the ones that brought us to the theaters this summer and allowed a couple hours escape from the hot, humid summer depths into the nice, cool air-conditioned loveliness that is your modern cinema.  If you were lucky, you may have even enjoyed a buttery bucket of popped corn and an ice-cold drink that was worth the $14.25.  Continue reading
