The list of our 10 favorite movies from 2010 is compiled from the 69 movie dates we went on in 2010, including a grace period for movies seen in January 2011. All in all, we watched a total of 32 movies released in 2010. It was a great year for drama and documentary, but a pretty bad year for comedies in general and romantic comedies specifically.
Movies are ranked on a 1-5 scale shortly after we watch them (within 2-3 days) and those 2 scores are averaged together. Movies with a tie score (both having a 3, or 4.5, etc.) are then ranked against each other via discussion.

10. Kick-AssThe most fun movie of the year- a hell of a good time, and then some. |
9. SkeletonsMostly unknown in the US, but definitely worth the slow pace. A great example of taking a high concept and making it work. |

8. CyrusA movie with great performances, surprises, comedy, and a great ending. |
7. InceptionA grand vision, not overdone, with plenty of cinematic beauty and daring. Nolan is the best director working today. |
6. Winter's BoneThe most realistic movie of the year- more realism and truth than most documentaries. |
5. The FighterEasily the best collection of performances all year. |
4. The TownA near-perfect combination of action and drama. |
3. The Social NetworkA triumph of technical elements- script, photography, sound, light, and performances- combining to make magic out of a story that could have been boring. |
2. GreenbergThe most underrated movie of the year- many surprises, great chemistry, and Baumbauch dials it down and delivers his most complex, surprising, and most measured movie. |

1. The King's SpeechA carefully-made, old-school style movie with outstanding performances and great story. |
